Demonizing Orban

I take issue with the demonization of [Viktor] Orban, not because I think him unproblematic (who the hell is unproblematic in world politics today?) but because demonization is a lazy means of argument, it is the facile avoidance of argument, which requires looking at what the guy actually says, and why.

China is immeasurably worse than Orban’s Hungary, but I guess Hungary doesn’t export enough Goulash to deserve any presumptions in its favor.
