“Settled science” does not exist — at least not among the scientific. It never was and never will be, except in an age like this: an age of superstition.

I’d have said “counterpoint” instead of “coincidence, as” but the former might be misleading while the latter elision of “something I coincidentally encountered while” is merely murky.
