Washington Post interrupts it regularly-scheduled good religion coverage to bring us this ill-conceived, pseudo-gotcha news:

Prominent Virginia pastor who said ‘God is larger than this dreaded virus’ dies of covid-19

“God is larger than this dreaded virus” ≠ “None of God’s people will die of this virus.” It was a message of spiritual hope, not an incitement to epidemiological recklessness. Doubt me? Think about this:

Earlier in the sermon, he said: “If I had to deliver my own eulogy, I’d say, ‘God is greater than any challenge you and I face.’ That would be my epitaph.”
