What I think about the debate

1. I didn’t watch it because I was confident in advance that I wasn’t going to vote for either major-party candidate.
2. The exception was that if my state was in play (unlikely; it’s solid red) I might vote for “Joe Biden,” a/k/a the latest President to die in office, because I’m pretty sure liberal democracy could survive Harris but not very sure it could survive Trump,who has powerful friends, Project 2025, with a very radical agenda.
3. The unanimous panning of Biden’s performance made me question my exception. I don’t know why, since I already assumed Biden=Harris. Maybe I harbored hope that he could stumble through.
