Red families, Blue families
I no longer can read opinion pieces like Megan McArdle’s October 11 offering without a measure of scorn, because there’s a lot of evidence that Red marriages are likelier to end in divorce than Blue marriages and that Blue families better instantiate the virtues that Red families profess but often betray.
There’s a lot of economic stratification hidden in that evidence, so I’m not suggesting a firm “pro-Blue” conclusion. I’m just calling B.S. on McArdle’s facile pro-Red conclusions.
