Trump ‘in danger of losing the mandate of heaven’ over Syria decision, Pat Robertson warns

I’ve seen that headline day after day at the Washington Post’s Religion page online.

It is just mesmerizing in its layers of unreality, making it a fit commentary in the Trump era.

• Pat Robertson is a charlatan.
• Donald Trump is is a con man.
• Syria already has been turned from autocracy to “hot steaming mess”
• The “mandate of heaven” means only that our guy (or gal) won (or that Pat Robertson is faking direct divine communication again). It’s “God’s judgment” when the other guy does.

I guess you’ve got to report it since Robertson has a whole television network, but still ….
